WHAT: Live Preprint Journal Club - Learn more about our Preprint Journal Clubs here.
WHEN: September 16th, 2022 at 12pm EST
WHERE: Live on Zoom (please register to attend)
WHO: Discussion and review of the following preprint: An assessment of Nano-RECall: Interpretation of Oxford Nanopore sequence data for HIV-1 drug resistance testing
WHY: Online Journal Clubs are an innovative peer review model that supports the advancement of Open Science by reducing individual bias toward a manuscript, producing freely available scientific records on the development of a research project, and uniting communities of like-minded scholars in a friendly and collaborative environment.
JMIRx is a new Superjournal Series launched in 2019 by JMIR Publications. Superjournals are a type of "overlay" journal sitting on top of preprint servers and offering peer review, copyediting, archiving and indexing.
Authors no longer have to submit their manuscript to a journal. Instead, our community reviewers, acquisition and review editors find papers they want to publish and extend conditional offers of publication to interesting articles published in preprint servers, as well as soliciting reviews and commentaries.
JMIRx|Bio sits on top of the bioRxiv preprint server and covers all subjects covered in bioRxiv.
HOW: Register using the link below
Interested in having your own (unpublished, unreviewed) preprint discussed at one of our forthcoming Preprint journal clubs? Nominate your preprint using the JMIRx-Bio form and check the PREreview option.
Discussions from the Preprint journal club can be used in lieu of peer-review and the preprint can then be published as "version of record" in JMIRx.
For detailed instructions and other submission options see How to submit to a JMIRx journal
